Siobhán O’Loughlin (Captain, she/her)

is a performance artist, activist, and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. While she didn’t feel that she fit in anywhere in Joe Biden’s camp, Siobhán felt a deep sense of dread over Trump’s looming second term. She founded The Misfits in order to provide other creative progressives with a space to use their skills for the greater good, even though it feels…not good. She is proud to serve as Captain Von-Luc Picard, and will do anything—anything, to save the ship.

Ira Lawrence Gamerman (Commander, he/we)

is a Playwright/ Performer/ Musician based in Brooklyn. Ira helped create The Misfits out of frustration with phone banking alone and a desire for the camaraderie of like-minded activists. He knew many progressives were alienated by the results of the 2020 primary, but felt it was ultimately more important to build a coalition to destroy fascism.

David Jacobs (Co-Founder Emeritus, he/his)

is a theater artist, teaching artist and budding Zoom game show host based in Brooklyn, NY. He helped to start the Misfits because he believes that no one can or should have to fight fascism alone. Once upon a time on a sunny day in Queens, he heard a Presidential candidate suggest that we “fight for someone we don’t know” and thought it was a good idea.

Sean Pollock (Co-Founder Emeritus he/they)

is a multi-disciplinary theatre artist, writer, director, designer, creative producer, filmmaker, sometimes performer, and teaching artist living in NYC (for now). They joined the Misfits because they were against Trump and wanted to help fight facism with other like-minded progressives. He believes the pathway to justice is through people power in tandem with making a lot of noise both online, offline, and on the phone.
